³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Foundations in Data Science — Transfer-Ready, Career-Ready

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Data Science

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ’s Data Science program is an interdisciplinary initiative designed to prepare students for careers and further study in one of today’s fastest-growing fields. Supported by both the Math and Computer Information Systems (CIS) departments, the program combines skills in computing and programming, statistics, and domain-specific knowledge to turn data into actionable insights.

  • Focus areas include biology, business, and computer information systems.
  • Students will learn how to collect, analyze, and visualize data to solve real-world problems in a wide range of industries.

UC Berkeley-Aligned Curriculum

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ is proud to offer students a direct connection to the University of California, Berkeley’s Data Science program through:

  • Math 118, Foundations in Data Science, equivalent to UC Berkeley’s course.
  • Ongoing development of a transfer pathway to UC Berkeley’s, offered through the Division of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS).

Students who complete Math 118 at ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ can earn transferable credit and be on track to pursue a bachelor’s degree at UC Berkeley or other four-year institutions.

Program Pathways

  • Associate Degree in Data Science and Analytics (In Progress)
A comprehensive degree providing a foundation in data science tools, statistical methods, and practical applications, with flexibility to specialize in an area of interest.
  • Certificate in Data Science (In Progress)
A shorter credential for students who want to build practical data skills that can be applied directly in the workplace or as a foundation for further study.
